““The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches, but not by right; it will leave him in the midst of his days, and at his end he will be a fool”” Jeremiah 17:9-11 NKJV.
Inasmuch as we may feel like we ourselves thoroughly, we are still deceived by our own hearts and desires. How many times have we pursued things that we thought we had a passion for only to discover later that we do not really want those things anymore. This is the effect of sin entering the world. Sin wants what it wants and no man can stop it unless it is done through Christ. God searches our hearts because that is the root of all things, our true intentions are hidden in our hearts ready to be revealed and exposed at the appropriate time, where we will be made to look like fools before him. Our human nature leads us to believe that we can do things without Him knowing, a prime example is Adam and Eve after they had eaten the forbidden. When they heard God coming they hid themselves as if God did not already know where they were and what they had done. Do not fall for the trap, stay alert and stay within His mercy and love.
Speak to God about your own life.
