Day 35: Long-Suffering Love

“‘The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation’” Numbers 14:18 NKJV.

It is important for us to acknowledge God’s patience towards us, because for Him to be truly a God of justice, all need to pay the price for their sins. But His loving kindness goes beyond His desire for justice. A desire we all have. The time for judgement has been set and when that day comes, all will be rendered to them what is deserving. Fortunately for us all, God has graciously given us all the time to repent and seek His mercy and forgiveness while we are still in this world through His Son, Jesus Christ. Ultimately, we are a product of our forefathers injustices and iniquity, meaning that we carry their punishment as well. God is patient with all. No one receives no special treatment because He does not esteem one over another, but a time will come when those who opposed and persecuted those who bare His name, will be made footstools of His people. A truth we all must know is that He will forgive all those who diligently and wholeheartedly seek Him. He will show them mercy and grace without any partiality. His love is patiently awaiting all those who seek it.

Father, help me that I may always seek after your love all the days of my life without ceasing. Thank you for Your patience towards me and Your undeserved mercy and forgiveness. Amen
