“He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy” Psalms 147:10-11 NKJV.
Horses are a lot stronger and can do more damage as compared to man, yet God takes no pleasure in it. A horse can do nothing for you, neither can your legs. The places both can take is nowhere near life changing. It may be pleasurable, but what’s the benefit of it all if that pleasure can do nothing for except make you feel good for a moment. With our hope in God, with fear and reverence, God finds pleasure in that because it is at that time where we are not distracted by worldly and unprofitable things. God indeed wants nothing but the best for us and the best for us cannot be found in the strength of horses. His mercy is the only thing that can take us from one place to another and it is in His mercy where we find hope. Trust and hope in Him wholeheartedly at all times and be a pleasurable odour in His presence.
Lord, thank you for your mercy and that You constantly give us something worthwhile to pursue after. Let my focus be solely on You, my God that I may bring pleasure unto You. Amen
