““Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” John 14:1 NKJV. ⚫️⚫️⚫️
It is very easy for us to be troubled by what is going on around us, our circumstances and past experiences play a big role in this. Unfortunately it forms a part of who we are hence we may find ourselves worrying about things God has sorted out long before we even entered this world. This is why Christ had to tell His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled but to believe and trust in Him as they do the Father. Same applies with us as we also need to remind ourselves not to worry and trust in God. Sometimes this comes through another individual’s words as we would have drowned ourselves with worry.
The minute we stray away from the path and way God is showing us, trouble will surely follow us. Reading further in chapter 14, Christ tells His disciples that “He is the way, the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father except through Him.” The path He speaks of is really not an easy path to follow and the road is very narrow implying that there is almost nothing any man can do for you to help you. It’s strictly between you and the Holy Spirit He fills you with. The most anyone can do is give you a little push of encouragement or help get you back to your feet when you have fallen. Walking down that path requires you to trust in Christ and believe that He will indeed see you to the very end. Do not let what you cannot control, mere insignificant objects steal your peace and fill your heart with trouble. Let not your heart be troubled but through it all, believe and trust in the faithfulness of God.
Father, I look to you this day that my heart may not be troubled. For a long time I have been troubled as I failed to put my complete trust in You but this day and forever more, I choose to trust in You and You alone. Amen
